GUIDELINES FOR ESSAY COMPETITION

TOPIC: MKPAT ENIN OF MY DREAM

As part of the activities to mark the 35th anniversary of Mkpat Local Government Area, the Transition Committee of the Local Government is organizing an essay competition for her indigenes.
These guidelines aim to ensure fairness, transparency, and adherence to the competition’s objectives. Participants are encouraged to carefully review and comply with all requirements before submitting their entries.
1. Assessment Criteria: Entries will be assessed based on the following criteria
  • Writing skills, including grammar, punctuation, and coherence
  • Organization and arrangement of thoughts and ideas.
  • Originality and creativity of content.
2. Plagiarism Check.
  • All entries will undergo thorough scrutiny for plagiarism, including the use of AI and other cheating methods.
3. Word Count Requirement: Entries must adhere to the specified word count for each category:
  • Category 1 - Minimum of 450 words and maximum of 500
  • Category 2 - Minimum of 850 words and maximum of 1000
  • Category 3 - Minimum of 1000 words and maximum of 1200
4. Entry Information: Every entry must carry the following information;
  • Topic of essay boldly written at the top.
  • The category entered for clearly written below the topic.
  • Name and phone number of the writer.
5. Participant Limitation
  • Participants are allowed to compete in only one category.
  • Multiple entries from a single participant will result in disqualification.
6. Eligibility
  • Only individuals who are indigenes of Mkpat Enin are eligible to participate in the competition.
7. Submission Period
  • Entries will be accepted from 8:00AM on Monday, April 22, 2024, until 11:59PM on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.
8. Registration Requirement
  • Prior to submission, participants must complete the registration form provided on this website.
9. Prizes: only one winner will be picked for each category and the prizes are as follows;
  • Category 1 - N50,000 (Fifty thousand naira)
  • Category 2 - N100,000 (One hundred thousand naira)
  • Category 3 - N150,000 (One hundred and fifty thousand naira)
10. Winner Announcement
  • The winners of the competition will be publicly announced and invited to the prize presentation ceremony at the 35th Anniversary Ceremony.
