As part of his commitments to attracting development and supporting initiatives that will benefit his people, the Executive Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government of Akwa Ibom State, Hon. (Engr.) Emmanuel Inyang today joined seven other Local Government chairmen from the oil producing communities at a meeting with Seplat Energy in Uyo.

The meeting is coming as Seplat Energy acquired the entire share capital of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited from Exxon Mobil Corporation.

Engr. Inyang promised to work with the company so that the host communities can feel the impact of the oil giant in the region which is blessed with abundant minerals and human resources.

He expressed confidence that with the calibre of men at the helms of affairs of Seplat Energy led by Akwa Ibom-born Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, the oil firm will make more exploits to remain a Nigeria’s leading independent energy provider.

Board Chairman of the company, Senator Udoma had told Governor Umo Eno during his visit to the Government House, Uyo on Tuesday that the company will be focusing on reopening of shut-in wells, increasing production, drilling campaigns and unlocking gas reserves and will be seeking mutually-beneficial relationship with host communities.
