For years, the dreams of many indigent students from Mkpat Enin Local Government Area were weighed down by one harsh reality: the rising cost of education. Brilliant minds sat in lecture halls burdened by unpaid fees, inadequate learning materials, and the constant fear of dropping out. For many families, tertiary education felt less like a right and more like a distant privilege.
But once again, leadership has chosen compassion over complacency and action over excuses

Your emergence as the Executive Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area was no accident; it was a divine orchestration. Through your people-centered leadership, you have shown indigent citizens of Mkpat Enin that the dividends of democracy are real, visible, and attainable.

Your administration’s Emancipation Blueprint has directly touched lives, particularly through the deliberate inclusion of youths in governance a privilege I personally benefit from. Your unwavering support for education, student engagement, and grassroots leadership continues to inspire a new generation to believe, to dream, and to serve.

In the same spirit that illuminated communities through Operation Light Up Mkpat Enin, Hon. (Engr.) Emmanuel Inyang is set to ignite another powerful force of transformation: education. With the introduction of a landmark bursary scheme for indigent students in tertiary institutions across Nigeria, hope is once again rising in Mkpat Enin.

This is not just another bursary, history is being made. For the first time in Mkpat Enin’s history, an administration is awarding ₦50,000 to undergraduate students and ₦100,000 to postgraduate students as bursary support. No previous chairman has set such a record or placed this level of value on academic pursuit.

This bursary transcends financial assistance; it is a lifeline. It will enable students to pay tuition, acquire learning materials, support research, and relieve the financial pressures that often force brilliant youths to abandon their academic dreams. It is a deliberate investment in knowledge, capacity building, and the future leadership of Mkpat Enin.

Beyond education, this administration has also demonstrated a firm commitment to economic empowerment. Earlier in his tenure, Hon. (Engr.) Emmanuel Inyang launched a ₦100 Million Empowerment Programme, the first of its kind in Mkpat Enin.

Through this initiative, traders, artisans, youths, and small-scale entrepreneurs received meaningful support, reinforcing the belief that sustainable development begins with empowering the people.

Taken together, these interventions reflect an administration driven by empathy, vision, and inclusive development. Under the leadership of Hon. (Engr.) Emmanuel Inyang, Mkpat Enin is empowering minds, strengthening livelihoods, and securing its future.
