Born on the 9th day of July,1968, into the family of late Chief Efiong and late Mrs. Tity Ukosin of Udung Uwe Village, Urueoffong/Oruko Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Comrade(Elder) Edet Efiong Ukosin remains the 4th child of the family of ten of equal gender share (5 males & 5 females)

Popularly known and called Eddy, Comrade Ukosin had his education starting from St. Jude’s Primary School, Udung Uwe, Urueoffong/Oruko Local Government Area; to St. Vincent’s Secondary School, Oti-Oro in Okobo Local Government Area; to University of Uyo, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State; to Nigerian College of Accountancy, Jos and acquired all requisite qualifications relevant to each citadel of learning as listed.

His work experience and career progression in the Unified Local Government Service of Akwa Ibom State has been a steady rise from grass to grace, having joined the service as a junior Staff on Salary GL 4. He started assuming statutory responsibilities in the service as a Payroll Officer; to Cashier; to an Internal Auditor; to Director of Finance; to, presently, the Head of Local Government Service- the peak of his career in the Local Government System.  As a Unionist, Eddy is presently the Deputy President, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Akwa Ibom State Chapter.

Elder Eddy Ukosin has undergone several on-the-job trainings, Seminars, Workshops, Conferences too numerous to mention in his service voage overtime. He also belongs to several professional bodies such as:

*Member, Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN)

*Member, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN)

*Member, Center of Excellence in Professional Development (CEPD)

*Fellow, Chartered Institute of Local Government & Public Administration of Nigeria (CILPAN)
