Christmas Unplugged: Akwa Ibom Called, Mkpat Enin Answered
Tuesday, December 19, 2023, the Christmas Village, Uyo, experienced a never-seen-before euphoria as Mkpat Enin Local Government Area took the centre stage to display her rich cultural heritage at the ongoing Christmas Unplugged. It was nothing short of beauty, elegance and splendour.
On behalf of the good people of Mkpat Enin, I wish to express our deep gratitude to our dear Governor, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno for providing such opportunity to foster love, unity, and togetherness among our people while showcasing the richness of our culture. Our sincere gratitude also goes to our mother, Her Excellency Pastor (Mrs) Patience Umo Eno for not only honouring our invitation but also affording us the privilege of sharing the whole moment with her and her team. Indeed, we have a mother in her.
We are also grateful to our ever-friendly Deputy Governor Her Excellency Senator Akon Eyakenyi for gracing the event. Dr Inemesit Enobong Uwah, Rt. Hon Felicia Bassey, Mrs Funmi Idongesit Nkanga, Mrs Comfort Effiong Bob, thank you. Our jewels in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly – Hon Precious Selong, Hon Kenim Onofiok, Hon Selina Ukpatu, and Dr. Itoro Etim, we are grateful.

Our debt of gratitude also goes to the Barr Ben Udowa, the planning committee Chairman and his team for their labour of love and sacrifice to Mkpat Enin. The cooperation and support of the entire members of Mkpat Enin Transition Committee did not go unnoticed. We thank our traditional fathers led by the Paramount Ruler of Mkpat Enin, His Royal Majesty (Eldr) Akpan A. Ekpene; the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); College of Personal Aides to the Governor; cultural groups, etc for their immense support.
Finally, to the people of Mkpat Enin, we could only do what we did at Christmas Unplugged through the strength of unity and togetherness. We can only imagine how much more we can do when we maximise this strength. Thank you is not enough for that show of support and patriotism yet all I can say is Thank You.
