
As part of activities to mark 100 days in office, the Executive Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, Engr. Emmanuel Inyang on Wednesday flagged off the grading of 7.95 kilometers of roads spread across various communities in the area.

The project covers Ibekwe Road through Ikot Mkpeye, Ikot Eda, Ikot Unya, Iffe and Ikot Abasi Obio Nkan.
At the ceremony, Engr. Inyang accompanied by the Vice Chairman of the Council, Mrs. Owoidoho Inyangetuk; Council Secretary, Hon. Aniedi Ekanem; Head of Service of the Local Government, Elder Edet Okosin and Director of Works, Engr. Iniobong Akpan, explained that the grading is aimed at improving access roads to boost socioeconomic activities in the area.
The Council helmsman reiterated commitment to providing quality access roads for the people and emphasized that improving road networks was key to enhancing the quality of life and promoting local businesses.
He recalled the poor condition of roads during his campaign rallies which damaged two of his campaign buses adding that when roads are motorable, life becomes easier for the people, a task he said will be a top priority of his administration.

In addition to the 7.95km road grading, Engr. Inyang also announced plans to upgrade critical roads among them: Ikot Obio Akwa-Ikot Akpe Road, Timber Market Road and major roads within Mkpat Enin urban.
He called on communities to support the initiative by cooperating with contractors and ensuring smooth execution and delivery.
Contractor handling the project, Mr. Luan of Green View Engineering Company assured of timely delivery and promised that the roads will be ready to mark the chairman’s 100 days in office.
In their goodwill messages, Director of Works for Mkpat Enin Local Government, Engr. Iniobong Akpan and the Village Chairman of Ikot Abasi Obio Nkan, Chief Martins Ntuenobong expressed gratitude to Engr. Emmanuel Inyang for fulfilling his campaign promise and pledged continued support to his administration.
