The Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government, Engr. Emmanuel Inyang, has inspected the ongoing remodelling of Ikot Akpaden Motor Park, directing the contractor to accelerate work and ensure timely completion of the project.
The inspection, carried out in line with the Chairman’s Emancipation Blueprint, followed the resumption of construction after the project was temporarily halted last year due to heavy rainfall.
Speaking during the visit, Engr. Inyang expressed satisfaction with the quality of work executed so far and commended the contractor for demonstrating renewed commitment to the project.
He urged the firm to intensify efforts, stressing that his next visit to the motor park should be for its commissioning.
The Council Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructural development and people-oriented governance, noting that community engagement and sustainable development remain central to his leadership agenda.
He also assured traders and residents of Ikot Akpaden that the local government has concluded plans to address challenges at the Ikot Akpaden Market through the construction of additional market stalls to improve trading activities and ease congestion.
Responding, the contractor handling the project assured the Chairman of accelerated work, pledging that the remodelling would be completed and ready for commissioning in the shortest possible time.
In a goodwill message, Chairman of Ikot Akpaden Motor Park, Mr. Ikoedem Mfon Ekanem, commended Engr. Inyang for initiating and sustaining the project, describing it as a critical intervention that would enhance orderliness in the park and significantly boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the local government.
